Yeah so I was motivated when my friend and team mate Angie on ELITE did her post of how her car looked when she first got it and it told me, "Hrmmm, nobody on this team, or anyone for that fact, knows what my car looked like when I first got it!" Well dag-nab-it if you ain't gonna know now! This is more of a record keeping thread for me but any questions, comments, or concerns are always welcome. Thanks, I and I hope that you enjoy.

Here it is the day we brought her home! Before 10 miles off the lot I already stopped at Oasis Window Tinting and tinted her 35% on the sides and 20% in the rear. That's right. I didn't own the car for more than 15 minutes and it was already modded! Bought her in March of 2004.

I went back under the hood to do some more work. This time with the help of Spectre Performance. They gave me a polished intake system. I got a 1st Gen Strut bar, got that polished. I got my intake manifold polished, and I got polished radiator hoses. It dressed up the engine bay quite nicely.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/3-24-07change5.jpg

I changed the trunk up a bit by building an amplifier rack and false wall. We are working on making the NOS functional. I got a great deal on the kit. - Thanks Corey!

I added a custom shift boot. I call it the $30 Manual Transmission! lol

Time for a change. Changed up the front bumper a little to include my IS Foglamps. ELITE got sponsored by Dunlop Tires so it was time for new wheels too!

Here it is dropped at DUB
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/DUBATL071.jpg

Then we found that there were rubbing issues with a full load on the car so I went in and shaved my rear fenders! No more rubs under normal load. I've since gone back and cut out the lower sections as well.

Wow! I hadn't noticed how much has changed since this post was started. So, It is time to update!!!

Had Paul's Custom Exhaust in Snellville install my new exhaust setup

When you arrive and pull into the garage bay behind the facility you are greeted with this work of art.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-35.jpg

After some coaxing and ramp work we were able to get my car up on the drive on lift to begin the work.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-34.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-26.jpg

Some pics of my original install I had. This is a great example of a poor install and bad choice in materials. The craftsmanship is horrible and Paul noticed it right away. He said, "We are definitely getting rid of this and starting all over! I can't let you leave with this still on your car."

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-33.jpg

The stock Y-Pipe with catalytic converter

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-32.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-31.jpg

A non functional H-Pipe and patching job to the two Tenzo R mufflers I had previously on the car

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-29.jpg

The new Toyomoto Y-Pipe and Remus STYLED Exhaust Mufflers. So nice and shiny!

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-28.jpg

You can see the horrible patch that the previous installer did here. They simply cut out part of the original piping and welded in piping in place of the old ones. This is also the last time that you'll see this exhaust on my car.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-23.jpg

Mocking up the Y-Pipe to the Headers. There was a slight issue since the Y-Pipie is also made for the IS300 it is not ment to fit on the GS300 right where the two pipes come to one there was slight rubbing on the heat shields and Tranny plate.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-22.jpg

So, Paul and Matt decided to heat up the pipe and bend it out of the way towards a more desirable direction instead of cutting and extending the Y-Pipe. They really wanted to keep the look of the install clean and bending the pipe was a more desirable option.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-20.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-19.jpg

There is now a hint of blue where they did the bend. Looks pretty cool to me.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-8.jpg

Paul decided to do a straight pipe till the rear axle to make another Y-Pipe to the mufflers. Here they are fabricating the Y-Pipe.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-18.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-17.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-16.jpg

The product

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-12.jpg

Time to mock up one side of the exhaust. Paul wanted a clean install so he did a one piece pipe from the Y and bended it to fit.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-7.jpg

He duplicated his work for the driver's side.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-6.jpg

All welded together.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-4.jpg

Here's a look from the Toyomoto Y-Pipe back.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-3.jpg

My High Flow Cat

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-2.jpg

Paul and Matt then painted the piping with some silver coating to make it more durable and clean. With the slight angling out of each muffler I think this flows much better with the body kit that I have on the car.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-1.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustInstal.jpg

Here's a link to a short video clip that I took before the install. Much higher pitched and less responsive.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/th_11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-37.jpg (http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/?action=view&current=11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-37.flv)

Here's a link to a short video clip that I took after the install. Much deeper and more responsive.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/th_11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-36.jpg (http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/11-19-07%20Pauls%20Custom%20Exhaust%20Install/?action=view&current=11-19-07GS3PaulsCustomExhaustIns-36.flv)

Thanks again to Paul and Matt over at Paul's Custom Exhaust in Snellville, GA. They have taken me on for the 2008 show season and I will represent their name proudly! Great work for a great price. Check them out for all your exhaust needs!

Kevin at R2B2 wrapped my trunk, UGO roof spoiler, and Junction Produce 3 piece spoiler replica in carbon fiber

As many of you know my car has undergone many changes for the upcoming 08 show season. Here are some sneak peaks of the work that is going on. Look for a final update at the World of Wheels show in Atlanta January 3rd-6th. The car will be done next Friday and will undergo extensive detailing for the show. Just to tell you what is happening in these pics:

1. Carbon fiber wrapping the UGO Roof spoiler
2. Carbon fiber wrapping the Junction Produce Replica rear spoiler. The two side pieces will be color matched to the body to achieve my two tone carbon look.
3. Trunk will be wrapped in carbon as well. I am not deleting the inner tails. You'll see why.

Here it is guys from WOW Show in ATL. The JP replica 3 piece spoiler is not on yet and neither is the UGO roof spoiler. The car went back in the shop today and will be out Wed or Thurs morning to roll out for WOW Chatanooga. There will be some airbushing added to the trunk lid and some other things are getting tinted as I type right behind me.

here you can tell how kevin matched up the weaves from the trunk lid to the jp replica spoiler

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/DSCN8814.jpg

here's the full rear end. you can see how they painted the side pieces of the rear spoiler to match the car and there's the ugo roof spoiler up top.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/DSCN8813.jpg

We also tinted the tails

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS400%20Build/DSCN9159.jpg

from the side

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/DSCN8809.jpg

a better angle with the slightly tinted tails. we did two coats of smoke black and called it quits. it is easier to get darker than it is to go lighter.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/DSCN8808.jpg

They also faded the sides of the ugo roof spoiler to match te car so that when you see it from the side it looks black

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/DSCN8811.jpg

you can see the fade here

Here you can see where my Bucky got creative with some paint.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/DSCN9175.jpg

I am also getting my pro lex performance exhaust manifold heat shield painted black. after some research i found that it really doesn't do much of a job shielding heat from the intake piping so i decided to create a show piece of it. i cut out a rectangular window so that you can see the headers through the hole. It should add for some good contrast with the black heat shield and the gold headers.

up close idea of it. it is only filler primered right now. not painted yet.

Ok, so today was a very productive day for me considering how late it started lol. I want to thank Dan, Juan, and and Shin (GGPIS3, Jvillagran and CarbonIS) for helping me out with parts and last night with my AEM wideband install, and thanks to Bucky for loaning me his spare carbon fiber single guage pod to use until we come up with something better later.

We took off the exisiting paint on the nitrous bottles yesterday night with aircraft paint remover. It is some cool stuff if you haven't ever used it before. Apply the goopy stuff on and spread it around. Let is sit for about 5 minutes and watch the paint bubble off! lol we then primered the bottles with a little sandable primer just to make the paint adhearable later. Thanks to Dan for letting me use one of his spare nitrous bottles until I get my new one in the mail!

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/DSCN9185.jpg

Here is my header heat shield, along with the shifter panel, and double din face. These will be painted later today when Bucky gets a chance.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/DSCN9186.jpg

We trimmed the carbon panels and sanded the edges. We will be added 1 or 2 more flood coats of resin on top before sanding down and clearing them.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/DSCN9176.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/DSCN9177.jpg

Here is the AEM Wideband. It is temporarily mounted to a chrome bezel guage holder.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/DSCN9180.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/DSCN9181.jpg

And this morning with the carbon fiber guage pod Bucky let me borrow. I only have it held down right now with double sided 3m tape until i figure out what to do. I am trying to source a driver's side a-pillar so that i can mold my triple guage pod to it and wrap it with carbon fiber. until then this guage pod cup will do.

there's no need to attack anyone. everyone is from different places and we all speak differently. dan is just looking out for me since he is like my older brother. the internet is an open place so when someone says something everyone has an opinion and they are entitled to it. thanks for the compliment again though.

well the power acoustic amplifier finally died last week. i went ahead and ordered a new solobaric L7 subwoofer for the trunk. it is yet another step to making the trunk a little more stealthy looking since the new L7's are black.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/newl7sub3.jpg

I then went over to our good friend Armando at Precision Audio to get a new amplifier. To keep the budget in tact we opted to go with an Almani 1600/2 brushed aluminum series amplifier. This would still handle the L7, keep the look of the trunk clean and simple, have high quality control since the internal boards are the same ones used in Hifonics amplifiers, and not sacrifice too much out of pocket.
